4Bs Ponds for Nature: Survey of Watery Habitats
Where are our ponds?
Our initial task is to understand the nature and distribution of the watery habitats in the 4Bs. During 2025/26 we are producing an inventory of ponds, lakes, watercourses and wetlands in the parishes of Betchworth, Buckland, Brockham and Boxhill. This will take the form of a series of maps.
We are aware that many residents in the 4Bs have created their own pond or other watery habitat from which wildlife can benefit. In October 2025 we undertook a survey. The results are detailed below.
